Ranjan Das Inspires All Assamese

Ranjan Das, 42, President of SAP India and a native of Guwahati, passed away on Wednesday, October 21st, in Mumbai after falling unconscious after a workout at his home gym. Ranjan, a graduate of MIT (Bachelors in EE&CS, 1992), and an MBA from Harvard, was appointed President of SAP India in 2007. He oversaw several thousand employees in Bombay and was able to double sales of SAP software in India in his first year. Under Ranjan’s leadership, SAP India became the biggest revenue earner among all software companies in India in 2009: http://www.sap-tv.com/4740 . Ranjan was a senior vice president of SAP USA before he moved to India. SAP happens to be the biggest software company in the world at this time. He lived in Silicon Valley for many years and was active in all activities of the Assamese community, in spite of his extremely busy schedule.
